His story about his addiction stuff is real. He's told it a few times, once on a smaller show you can find if you try. I couldn't say about anything else. I can just tell, even though Oliver is very good at selling a bit, that that stuff is real. It's the way he rambles in and out of thoughts that says it's a real memory. His improv is more directed, and he tends to repeat things and speak with less words, and louder, when he's in character.
the serious conversation at the end is the most i’ve ever enjoyed a h3 podcast. i usually love the chaos of the oliver tree collaborations, but this was so touching and emotional. much bigger fan of all of you now. thank you for your vulnerability.
Oliver has one of the quicket wits, he is one of the few guests that can keep up the crazy energy or even escalate it, but not go beyond. He truly is "yes and..." man.

You missed the part between that where he revealed his true self and was one of the chillest guys. Talked about his drug addiction and ego death where he took a bunch of acid at burning man and ate the weed brownies he family made. He saw his own death and walked around naked. He talked about getting sober and learning Buddhist philosophy. Definitely worth rewatching that part cuz it was the best part everyone agrees
So much of this episode I loved. The fake therapist, the switch-a-roo, Oliver Jr. and watching Ethan try and make him comfortable, watching Ethan and Oliver go in and out of shtick, Oliver opening up about personal struggles... I have been watching Ethan since New York react days, and this is for sure up there in my personal top ten.
This episode is seriously a masterpiece. I was blown away from all of the stories the genuine Oliver had to tell. You can really tell how passionate he is about his art. Papa Bless ♥

I always love the goofs and gaffs, but I was sooo happy that they ended up actually talking with Oliver sans character. It’s been really nice to see him opening up so much beyond his character in interviews this past month or so, and this kinda felt like a final step in his transformation of just being himself including pieces of his character and not the other way around.

My brother died at 23. The last time I saw him was on a viewing table in the funeral home. It was a week after he died. He looked like he was sleeping… I made myself see him because it felt like he wasn’t even dead. Seeing him felt like a cattle prod to the stomach. I think about him every day… I really resonate with reexamining how we think about death. So many people tell us how strong we are for continuing to talk about my brother and advocating for mental health awareness (he took his own life) but I feel like that should be the bare minimum! I don’t want to belittle anyone’s grief, but the way we just tuck our loved ones away in a little box to only examine when we think it’s appropriate just doesn’t sit right with me. We should turn our wounds into wisdom!!
i love how ethan immediately went into dad mode with rex. that was so cute. and oliver being so genuine at the end was incredible. also that fly landed on oliver's beanie before it almost perished. i thought i was tripping until he mentioned it in the slime lmao.
Every single time Ethan's kids are in the building and they're on set for a few minutes or so, the crew is CONSISTENTLY patient and reassuring to the kids. It's really wholesome. They always make the kids feel safe and comfortable.
Something about this podcast is so special. The way it starts completely serious, breaks down into the typical chaos for like two hours in the span of one bit, then turns back into an incredibly real and heartfelt moment between Oliver and Ethan. This shit should be in H3's Louvre.

I’ve had really traumatic situations in my life with those issues as well & the damage it does on your outlook to life is huge. I just got diagnosed with the same heart condition that I watched kill my grandpa & repeated try to kill my mom. Really needed to hear how he used those hardships to better his body because it’s his one vessel. Truly genuine inspiration. Also rare & important for big names to talk about addiction being a disease so can’t say how much I appreciate that. I hope nothing but the best for Oliver, Ethan & hila along with the whole crew❤️

I have been watching Ethan since New York react days, and this is for sure up there in my personal top ten.
This episode is seriously a masterpiece. I was blown away from all of the stories the genuine Oliver had to tell. You can really tell how passionate he is about his art. Papa Bless ♥
It drifted effortlessly back and forth from interesting interview moments, to great little sketches and bits, and jokes. So good.

I’ve totally had this thought before about him being a good dad I see him with the kids and I’m like man I wish my dad was even 1/4 lol and I thought the same thing when lil Oliver showed up. He just talks to them like idk like tailored to their age but like their his friend he wants to help lol it’s the absolute best way to be. His kids are going to grow up to be great people. They’re so lucky lol Ethan should make a big brother club haha teach the other dads how to teach 😂

I always love the goofs and gaffs, but I was sooo happy that they ended up actually talking with Oliver sans character. It’s been really nice to see him opening up so much beyond his character in interviews this past month or so, and this kinda felt like a final step in his transformation of just being himself including pieces of his character and not the other way around.

My brother died at 23. The last time I saw him was on a viewing table in the funeral home. It was a week after he died. He looked like he was sleeping… I made myself see him because it felt like he wasn’t even dead. Seeing him felt like a cattle prod to the stomach. I think about him every day… I really resonate with reexamining how we think about death. So many people tell us how strong we are for continuing to talk about my brother and advocating for mental health awareness (he took his own life) but I feel like that should be the bare minimum! I don’t want to belittle anyone’s grief, but the way we just tuck our loved ones away in a little box to only examine when we think it’s appropriate just doesn’t sit right with me. We should turn our wounds into wisdom!!

The whole crew hyping up Oliver Jr is so sweet. It shows just how genuinely nice people they are.
Every single time Ethan's kids are in the building and they're on set for a few minutes or so, the crew is CONSISTENTLY patient and reassuring to the kids. It's really wholesome. They always make the kids feel safe and comfortable.
Something about this podcast is so special. The way it starts completely serious, breaks down into the typical chaos for like two hours in the span of one bit, then turns back into an incredibly real and heartfelt moment between Oliver and Ethan. This shit should be in H3's Louvre.

I’ll be 23 next year and thinking that soon I’ll be older than he ever was is so hard to grasp. I really appreciate the conversation Oliver had about his family, addiction & death. I’ve had really traumatic situations in my life with those issues as well & the damage it does on your outlook to life is huge. I just got diagnosed with the same heart condition that I watched kill my grandpa & repeated try to kill my mom. Really needed to hear how he used those hardships to better his body because it’s his one vessel. Truly genuine inspiration. Also rare & important for big names to talk about addiction being a disease so can’t say how much I appreciate that. I hope nothing but the best for Oliver, Ethan & hila along with the whole crew❤️
